Purpose-led Activations

The 1851 Trust

The 1851 Trust · 2014–present

For over a decade, Into the Blue has been the creative force behind the 1851 Trust — blending sport, purpose, and design to spark innovation and inspire the leaders of tomorrow.

The Challenge

The 1851 Trust exists to engage young people with STEM and green skills careers through the lens of sport and innovation. With an ambitious goal of reaching 3 million young people by 2030, the charity needed a creative partner who could build a communications ecosystem capable of operating at scale — across digital platforms, physical spaces, fundraising, and global campaigns — while remaining true to its purpose-led identity.

Our Approach

Into the Blue provides strategic, end-to-end creative support across every dimension of the Trust's work. Together, we've built a powerful communications strategy delivering free-to-access online resources, global social campaigns, and in-person workshops. Our creative team works across fundraising, brand development, and project delivery — ensuring every asset is designed to educate, inspire, and connect.

Creative That Educates and Inspires

From core brand assets to immersive installations, athlete-led collaborations to digital learning platforms, every activation is designed with a clear purpose: to make STEM and green skills feel relevant, exciting, and achievable for young people. We've created over 60 free digital resources covering STEM and climate subjects, and built the creative framework for the Tech Deck — a purpose-built education space that has hosted 10,000 young people for hands-on STEM workshops.

Delivering Value for Funders and Partners

Our creative assets don't just fuel the 1851 Trust's engagement strategy — they deliver measurable value to funders and partners too. Every piece of content, every campaign, and every brand touchpoint is built to strengthen relationships and demonstrate impact, enabling the Trust to sustain and grow its funding base for the long term.
