11th Hour Racing Exploration Zone

The project

Into the Blue designed and built the '11th  Hour Racing Exploration Zone' a dedicated educational space at the Land Rover BAR base for the 35th America’s Cup held in Bermuda in 2017.

The exploration zone delivered a series of experiential and curriculum linked educational programmes, engaging with the local community and inspiring the younger generation whilst raising awareness of ocean health and sustainability.

The Zone gave visitors to the Land Rover BAR Bermuda base a unique behind-the-scenes access to the Sailing team, alongside several interactive exhibits creating an engaging story with interconnecting themes, including Technology and Innovation, Alternative Materials, Invasive Species (like Lionfish), Ocean Plastics, The New Plastics Economy and Creative Solutions.

Over a period of six months nearly 10,000 visitors came through the education space with 1,800 Bermudian students taking part in lessons on ocean plastics, renewable energy and invasive species.
